The mold was purchased from Islander, and professionally finished then launched in 1984. A true offshore cruising yacht, the Pilothouse affords 360 degree visibility inside. The inside steering station is partially equipped, and can be steered using one of the remote autohelm positions. Although a sloop design, there has been a second furling drum and forstay installed to handle a 120 genoa and a 90 jib, all from the cockpit. She is also equipped with an in-mast furling mainsail with verticle battens.
Upgrades include bottom stripped and epoxied in 2007, topsides refinished with 3 coats of primer and 2 topcoats, the deck hardware was rebedded and most was replaced in 2002, the rudder post and shaft repacked in 2008 prior to launch, hard bimini top that carries 4 solar panels.
This boat will sleep 5 adults, has privacy curtains, 3 solar vents and numerous opening ports. If your intention is long-term cruising, or longer weekends/weeks on the water, this boat is well equipped for either. |
